Lions, Tigers and Bears...oh my!!!
It's summer in the city and a perfect day to go to the Zoo! Part of the Smithsonian Institution, the National Zoo is the nation's zoo. It is a 163-acre zoological park set amid Rock Creek National Park in the heart of Washington, D.C. You can visit the Zoo 364 days a year to see 2,000 individual animals of 400 different species
Tucan Sam
Flamingo
This Lion heard sirens going by and got very upset.
After a couple very hot hours at the Zoo, it was time for Jonathan to head to school. We drove over to Foggy Bottom and stopped for a drink at Circa Foggy Bottom. Circa is a pretty popular hangout for the students at the George Washington University.
We grabbed a cold drink, had a few appetizers, discussed all the great animals at the Zoo and had a lot of good laughs.
Uncle Jonathan headed to class and Kayelynn imagined herself being a student of the GWU someday.
I taught Kayelynn how to hail her first cab and she did a great job getting us to Georgetown waterfront for a silly girls photo-shoot.
Once the sun went down we went to dinner at Filomena Italian Ristorante. You can find that post here. Such a wonderful day with my two favorite girls!
