Historic La Jolla and Beach Bonfires

My best friend flew in from San Francisco to see us over the weekend, so we headed to La Jolla for the day. We stopped off at the La Valencia Oceanfront Hotel(which is where Jonathan and I met). The La Valencia Hotel is the 2nd oldest hotel in San Diego and is an icon, having hosted celebrities, celebrations, reunions and romantic getaways since 1926. Ten years ago, I was waiting tables in the Mediterranean Room here at the LaV and Jonathan was valeting cars out front. After much persistence from him, I finally agreed to be his girlfriend...we soon departed the LaV to pursue better job opportunities and the rest is beautiful history...
Where it all began...
After visiting the LaV, we had brunch at Brockton Villa Restaurant for some of their famous Coast Toast.
We were all stuffed after brunch, so we walked down to La Jolla Cove to view the seals and take in the beautiful Pacific Ocean. "Prospect Street" in La Jolla, is considered the "Rodeo Drive" of San Diego, full of world class museums, shopping and galleries.
The Museum of Contemporary Art is one of the world-class museums on Prospect Street, it is also where we got married, so we had to go say hi!
After our fun filled day in La Jolla, we headed back to the resort to get ready for our beach bonfire.
Everyone started to arrive just in time for sunset...
